About BBM Designs

BBM Designs is the web design studio of artist, musician, and teacher Dave Kobrenski (me). Located in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire, USA, my “little design studio” began as a functionally-related off-shoot of the Black Bear Moon Music and Cultural Project, which is my main project, formed (officially) in 1996 as a means of exploring and sharing the world’s musical and cultural traditions.

bbm designs and web standards

BBM Designs is committed to making your project beautiful, functional, and accessible to all. All our recent and new designs comply to web standard recommendations set forth by the W3C. The designs are entirely built upon Cascading Style Sheets, a modern and effective way of separating design from content that has many advantages compared to older and outdated techniques. Using web standards and CSS, your website will be:

  • faster loading
  • optimized for search engines
  • easier to update
  • cheaper in bandwidth cost
  • prepared for flawless redesigns in the future
  • attractive in all modern browsers
  • accessible for people with disabilities or impaired vision

About This Site

While normally I’d never really say that I’ve been one to conform, I’m pleased to report that all of the pages on the new BBM Designs site (yep, the one you’re looking at) conform to the W3C standards for valid XHTML 1.0, as well as for Valid CSS. Compliance with these standards ensure that this web site is accessible to all, including those who may have disabilities. For more information on web standards, visit the Web Standards Project website.

About Me

Dave

Actively pursuing a life as a musician, educator, artist, and performer, I currently divide my time between my own creative pursuits, teaching and promoting West African music and dance, traveling yearly to West Africa to study music, and, of course, my little web design business (of which you are, apparently, already aware!).

When I’m not working in the design studio, I’m probably trying to wrap my mind around some African rhythms, or teaching a music class, or maybe performing for some area school kids. Painting and Illustration are big for me as well, and the future will surely see my energy pouring into that area of my life again soon.

Me an’ Kerri live in a quiet little northern New Hampshire town, population 1950, with lots of forest, trails, and river access. It sure is beautiful here.
